Who we are
Dent Magic, Inc. ("Dent Magic", "we", "us") operates https://dentmagic.com and the auto body shop at 2550 US HWY 2 East, Kalispell, MT 59901. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors and customers, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, call (406) 755-4112 or use our contact form.
Information you give us
When you submit a form on this site, we collect the information you fill in. Each form asks for slightly different things:
- Contact form: first name, last name, email, phone, and your message.
- Photo estimate form: the contact fields above, plus your vehicle's year, make, model, optional VIN, type of damage, a description, and any photos you choose to attach.
- Hail fast-track form: the contact fields, vehicle details, your home address, insurance carrier and (optionally) claim number, and any notes about where the damage happened.
You can also reach us by phone, email, or by walking in — that's not covered by this policy because no website data is collected.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit dentmagic.com, our hosting provider and analytics tools collect technical information:
- IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen size, referring URL, and the pages you view on the site.
- Approximate location (city / region) derived from your IP — we don't track precise GPS location.
- Cookies and similar storage used by analytics and our anti-spam protection. See "Cookies and tracking" below.
How we use it
- Respond to inquiries and quote requests, and follow up about repairs.
- Coordinate with your insurance company on your behalf when you ask us to.
- Improve the site — figure out which pages are useful, which forms confuse people, which features to build.
- Run advertising campaigns that show our work to people in northwest Montana who might need a body shop, and measure whether those ads actually lead to estimates.
- Prevent fraud and abuse on our forms (bot submissions, spam).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with other body shops, dealerships, or marketing lists.
Who we share it with
We use third-party service providers to keep the site running. Each category sees only the data it needs to do its job. If you'd like the specific vendor names, contact us and we'll share them.
- Hosting and infrastructure — keeps the site online. Sees standard server-log information: your IP, browser, and the URLs you request.
- Form delivery and storage — delivers your form submissions to our staff email and stores them in our database so we can look them up when you call back. Sees the form contents (name, email, phone, message, photos).
- Maps and address lookup — powers the address autocomplete on the hail intake form. Sees partial address queries as you type, plus an approximate IP location.
- Bot prevention — runs the anti-spam challenge on our forms. Sees signals about your browser and IP to decide whether you're a human or a bot.
- Analytics — measures site traffic so we can see what's working. Sees your IP, page views, and which form (if any) you submitted.
- Advertising and conversion measurement — attributes conversions from any ad campaigns we run on third-party platforms, and where applicable supports remarketing. Sees IP, page views, and conversion events.
In rare cases we may share information when required by law (a subpoena or court order), or when needed to investigate suspected fraud or threats to the safety of any person.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets a few cookies and uses local storage:
- Functional — we remember your light/dark theme preference locally on your device (it never leaves your browser).
- Analytics — our analytics provider sets cookies to count unique visitors and measure how the site is used. These load only after your first interaction with the page, not automatically.
- Advertising — ad platforms we use for campaigns may set cookies for conversion measurement and audience building.
- Anti-spam — our bot-prevention provider may set a short-lived cookie to remember that you passed the challenge.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies will still let you use the site, but some features (analytics, conversion tracking) won't work.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are retained in our email and our database for as long as the relationship is active — typically a few years past your most recent repair, since insurance disputes and warranty claims can happen later. Analytics data follows the providers' standard retention (Google Analytics defaults to 14 months, for example).
You can request that we delete your information at any time. See "Your rights" below.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete it (we'll keep what's required for legal or warranty purposes, and tell you what we kept).
- Opt out of marketing tracking (we honor browser-level signals like Global Privacy Control where supported).
To make any of these requests, call (406) 755-4112 or use our contact form with the subject "Privacy request." We'll confirm your identity (so we don't accidentally share someone else's info) and respond within 30 days.
If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you specific rights including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell personal information, but the rights above cover the rest. California "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" requests can be submitted the same way.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the entire site, modern security headers, and reputable service providers for hosting, storage, and analytics. We limit access to customer data to the people at Dent Magic who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfectly secure — if you spot something that looks like a vulnerability, please call us or use the contact form and we'll look into it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we collect, use, or share information, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site. For changes that affect data you've already shared with us, we'll contact you directly when feasible.
