Opt-in evidence

How we collect SMS consent.

Consent is collected verbally, on the phone, and by no other method. This page shows exactly what a customer hears and how their answer is recorded.

Effective July 30, 2026

The only way to join

A customer telephones Dent Magic at (406) 755-4112 to report hail damage on their vehicle. During that call, our intake agent asks for permission to text them about scheduling.

There is no web form, no keyword, no QR code, and no paper form for this program. We never add a number from a purchased list, a referral, a lead vendor, or any third party. If a customer has not said yes on the phone, we do not text them.

Exactly what the agent says

Immediately after taking the customer's mobile number, the agent reads this aloud, word for word:

"Can I text you at that number to get your repair scheduled? You'd get appointment and reminder texts from Dent Magic. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and you can reply STOP any time to opt out."

The agent then stops speaking and waits. Silence, a pause, or an unclear answer is never treated as agreement.

What the exchange sounds like

A customer who agrees:

Agent: What's the best phone number to reach you?

Customer:406-555-0142.

Agent: Can I text you at that number to get your repair scheduled? You'd get appointment and reminder texts from Dent Magic. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and you can reply STOP any time to opt out.

Customer: Yeah, that's fine.

Agent: Thanks. [consent recorded — yes, with date, time and number]

A customer who declines:

Agent: Can I text you at that number to get your repair scheduled? …you can reply STOP any time to opt out.

Customer: I'd rather you just call me.

Agent: No problem, we'll call you instead to get you scheduled. [consent recorded — no; this number is never texted]

The agent does not ask a second time later in the call.

How the answer is recorded

When a customer agrees, our intake system stores the affirmative answer together with the date and time, the mobile number it applies to, and a reference to the call itself. That record is created before any message is sent, and it is what we rely on if a customer ever asks why they received a text.

A decline is recorded the same way. Those customers are contacted by phone only.

The first message they receive

Only after consent is recorded do we send anything. The first message identifies us by name and carries the full disclosures:
